Vocational Skills Programme (VSP)

KMP is contracted by arrangement of the Sheffield City Council CYPD as a provider for the delivery of vocational training to 14-16 year olds. The broad aim of the provision commissioned by the CYPD is to contribute to the following:

  • To improve achievement, attendance and progress of 14-16 year old learners.
  • To establish clearly defined progression routes for young people.
  • To work in partnership with schools and Connexions to achieve the above.
  • To develop programmes that meet the needs of the re-engagement client group, particularly with reference to skills and vocational training.
  • To give learners the opportunity to work towards and achieve vocational qualifications.

KMP gives each learner the opportunity to learn new multimedia skills, develop confidence and gain ASDAN qualifications in Expressive Arts. In addition learners can also gain Wider Key Skills qualifications in Adult Literacy and Numeracy Levels 1 & 2. These qualifications are equivalent to GCSE grades C or D and are accepted as college entry. Learners also have the opportunity to work on our web portal and termly newsletter making news and feature articles.

All referrals to the provision should be made through the Extended Curriculum Team within Access and Inclusion.
