A Happy New Year to staff, students, trustees, funders and friends of KMP. The Christmas break already feels like a distant dream, having just completed the first week of the New Year.

Just before Christmas, we reached all our targets for achieving PQASSO (Quality Assurance) level 1. We also revised and updated our Equality & Diversity Policy, completed our Self Assessment Report for the period Sept 07 – Sept 08 and Continuous Improvement Plan for the forthcoming year. We are now in the process of exploring the possibility of offering ASDAN Wider Key Skills alongside the Basic Key Skills we deliver. We are also working in partnership with our neighbour Endeavour, who are offering our learners trips to experience such activities as canoeing, climbing, caving, map reading, wild cooking and bush craft skills in return for our tutors delivering ICT skills/CV writing to their learners.
Additionaly, we are in the process of organising an Open Evening for parents/carers, of our learners, who were unable to attend our recent Open Week due to work commitments. More information on this event will be published on our web portal nearer the time.

The IMAGE Factory Project, run through Future:proof funding has been running for a couple of months now and is coming on well, with learners regularly attending and, by all accounts, enjoying the course. One of our Support Fund learners has recently achieved level 1 in Numeracy and is now working towards Level 2 in order to get into college to study as a Mid-Wife.
Our VSP programme is now running at full capacity with learners regularly attending and working hard at their studies.

KMP staff and trustees continue to work hard at keeping our organisation innovative and dynamic but welcome any suggestions on how we can improve our service to our customers.
