The founder of online encyclopaedia Wikipedia is launching a service offering free tools for people who want to build community websites.
Jimmy Wales has said his company Wikia.com will offer software, storage and network access and that website creators can keep advertising revenue.
Sites built with Wikia tools must provide a link to the company, which itself earns money from adverts. |

Hi KMP
I think the administrator needs to give some people rights to post up stories on the site to give it a good test |

What would be helpfull would be to start a forum listing the things that need improvment.
As well as new users being enabled
I think the story editor needs to have the link to the specific user so they can get an image from their storage space.
I think care needs to be taken not to allow anyone to put up active content such as embeded files as this is quite a big security risk.
I think a central repository of images is a good idea, one that allows passing visitors to upload pictures for there sitries.
I think you need to specify a size for a headline image, so the headline paragraph has an illustrative photograpph of a standard size. This will make the presentation of the homepage look good as well as the newsletter.
LInk into some other sites using the RSS feed and you will get content from other sites. I know the YASSY site will be generating some soon. The Community Nedia Association site has a good RSS feed.
Keep on Posting |

| Whoever is the administrator of this site needs to get active in setting up the facilities. I suggest the administrator contacts to CMS designers for advice on how to use the admin control panel. The admin control panel allows users to be given rights to create content, the default out of the box setup of the site will be to locked down to afford maximum security. The Admin needs to beging creating users and allocating user rights to create and edit content. There will be changes needed at the final stage of completion of the site these need to be documented in a list, I suggest you creat a forum to list qustions and queries about the functionality of the site. |
