KMP was established in 1986 as Kelvin Music Productions, as part of the youth service detached work on the Kelvin Flats in Sheffield. It has metamorphosised into a successful voluntary/community organisation that offers informal and engaging learning opportunities to local adults and young people citywide using the arts, ICT and multimedia as a tool.

The organisation has now developed into a major creative ICT trainer in Sheffield. The main aim is to work in partnership with learners, involving them in their education which will be enjoyable, achievable, and motivating.

KMP has developed and delivered courses with the help of the following:

• Single Regeneration Budget
• Community Media Association
• Children In Need
• Sheffield Futures and Connexions
• UK Online Centres

The organisation has a reputation for innovative work and the ability to engage learners who have not been attracted to other agencies and are not primarily in education, employment or training. KMP are based in a modern unit at the Edmund Road Business Centre, close to the city centre, making it easily accessible to students from all over the city. Within our space we have two refurbished computer suites, two offices, a meeting room and a music studio.

The future for KMP

KMP are continually looking at expansion of provision to enable them to become a major voluntary/community contender in sustainable regeneration.
